Things I hope to do in 2008
Establish and run a photography business Visit Emily in Madison, WI Let myself be more open and creative Find happiness Visit my grandmother in Australia
It snowed a lot of inches last night and we’ve had people in weather-appropriate attire banging on our door since early this morning, to see if we would need their snow-cleaning services, I imagine.

I guess I should be hanging out on YouTube more, because I’ve been missing out on good stuff like this. (via George’s blog)
Phone Call
Friend: Hey! What are you doing tonight?
Me: Um, what? Nothing? (Not even realizing what day it is.)
Friend: There's a gay club opening tonight! Do you wanna go?!
Me: (Still confused...) No? (Thinking of work the next morning.)
Friend: I was just seeing if you'd like to take pictures.
Me: Oh! OK! (I am easily persuaded.)
Having an Asian Mother makes for good stories
Last night, I went to visit my Mom at work. I was tired, sleepy, and my eyes were burning. “Hold on, let me get you some eyedrops! They’re excellent and very refreshing for tiredness,” she claims. “No, Mom, I’m good—I don’t do eyedrops.” But as soon as I finished my sentence, there was a little Asian lady pinning me down, her one hand on my...
I don’t know how for how long, but I’ve kind of always wanted to have a job as the person who selects the music for movies and TV. I love watching something and thinking, “Wow, that song couldn’t be more perfect for this moment.” That’s admirable.
The Most Important Thing I Learned in College
A few years ago, I was introduced to existentialism in my French literature class. We read Huis clos and En attendant Godot for perspective, and I don’t think anyone else quite grasped it, but I did. Things are much more simple and clearer now.
Be a friend! on Vimeo (via Dooce) Leta is hands-down my favorite Internet baby. I’ve been reading Dooce since Leta was a couple of months old.
is it me or is it nearly impossible to find any help for Serena Collage online?
listening to Jamie Cullum’s “But For Now”
There’s a winter storm warning until tomorrow. The trees are sparkling from the freezing rain and I didn’t bring my camera. Just imagine, though, because that way, things can look like anything you want them to. I finally watched The Science of Sleep yesterday and it’s absolutely wonderful—exactly how my mind works most of the time.

I need to be more creative. I haven’t flexed my mind muscles since that one year of art school and it makes me feel numb. I need to stop being lazy and work on some new, exciting projects. I’m not happy with myself right now.
